The Word of God
We believe the Bible is God inspired and is the only reliable source for sound doctrine.
God
There is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4) . He is the creator of heaven and earth and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father, in the Son, and through the Holy Spirit.
This core belief in One God is the same teaching the Old Testament prophets taught (Isaiah 9:6) and the apostles preserved throughout the New Testament Scriptures. In the present day, this apostolic belief is known as the Oneness doctrine.
Deuteronomy 6:4 NIV
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Isaiah 9:6 NIV
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, giving an accurate history of the creation of heaven, earth, and humanity and containing a correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding heaven, earth, and the destiny of humanity. Moreover, there is no salvation outside what is taught in its pages.
The Bible
Human Beings
People are made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called ‘sin’. This attitude separates people from God and is the root cause of all suffering and heartache.
Salvation
The New Testament experience of salvation is received by grace through faith. As the author of salvation, Jesus clarified that a person must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God.
After preaching the good news concerning Jesus, Peter was asked by those who heard him, “What should we do?” (Acts 2:37)
Peter answered them with the straightforward application of their faith: Repent, be baptized in Jesus’ name for the remission of sins, and they would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Hebrews 5:9, John 3:3-5, Matthew 16:19, Acts 2:38.)
Acts 2:37-38 NKJ
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Hebrews 5:9 NKJV
and having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
John 3:3-5 NIV
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
Matthew 16:19 NIV
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[a] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
